About this event: 

Behavioral insights has been proved to be a useful tool for governments around the world. This session will take a deep-dive into how it looks in Latin America, how it's used and what insights are emerging.

Drawing from experience in the Argentinian Federal Government, São Paulo’s Municipal Government, and in Colombia, OL, Flora, and Javier will share some of their experiences applying behavioral insights to projects. They will share case studies, lessons they've learnt along the way and the questions they're asking about the future application of this method.

Javier Guillot

Javier is an inspiring public innovation thinker and doer. He currently serves as Environmental Culture Lead at the Secretariat of Culture of Bogotá. He recently worked as director of the Colombian Public Innovation Team (EiP-DNP). He is also the cofounder of Círcula, a social enterprise that creates more engaging and consistent ways to deal responsibly with the challenges of trash.

Flora Finamor Pfeifer

Flora leads the behavioral science initiative of São Paulo City Hall, at the (011).lab, where she has been working since 2018. She is doing a masters in Public Administration in Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and holds a bachelor in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Margarita Gómez

Margarita Gómez is the inaugural executive director of the People in Government Lab (PeopleGov ), located in the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University. The PeopleGov Lab is the School's innovation-in-government project aiming to improve the motivation, responsiveness and effectiveness of people working in government.
