About this event:

COVID-19 challenged governments to act in ways and at a pace that is rarely called for. In such moments, the urgency and immediacy of the crisis can crowd out decision-making that’s needed the longer term.

This session will explore how the State Government in Victoria significantly reoriented the public service, set up eight core ‘missions’ and programs of work to ensure critical services can continue during the COVID-19 crisis.

Join us for a candid conversation with Chris Eccles - Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Victoria - on how these governance innovations were implemented. And importantly, discuss what we can learn from this for decision making in the future.
